Good paints but bad brush

"By now I use the professional W&N colors which are definitely more pigmented, but a few years ago I wanted to start with watercolo, so I bought the Cotman sketcher's set. I liked the paints very much and it was a great starting set , but I immediately disliked the travelbrush. It wasn't pointy as most of them seem to be. And one side is different from the other. I have seen many review videos of this set and talked to other people with the set and everyone was ravishing about the good pointy travel brush that came with the set. So now I am wondering, did I get a bad one or has the quality gone down?"
